Altering a background can be as simple as removing a single unsightly element, as complex as replacing multiple segments, as exotic as replacing the entire background with one from your wish-list, or anything in-between. A background change may be just the photo restoration that you need. See for yourself.
Minor Background Alteration . . . $40 to $50
Removing the tarpaulin that's covering Shari's lawn furniture was a simple cloning from the grass on the left over to the tarp on the right. Vote "Yes" for Tarp Cell Research!
Art Effect Background . . . $40 to $50
An almost unlimited number of artistic effects can be applied to Gayle's background. Below are a few samples of . . .
Comic Background . . . $40 and up
Yes, Kay, almost anything is possible, with-in the bounds of decency (or with-out), with-in the limits of artistic integrity (or with-out), and with-in your imagination and our skills.
Major Background Alteration . . . $55 and up
As much as I appreciate the need for air conditioners here in South Florida, they do not constitute an aesthetic improvement to a photograph. This photo of Elf took much more work than the "Minor Background Alteration" above. Please note: as always, and as needed, clarification, brightening and color correction are included. Photo restore at it's finest.
A combination of different methods was used on Elf's grand-kid's table clutter in this photo in order to achieve the several results below. Collectively, they are known in the trade as the " 'What, Am I Your Mother?' Technique".
Exotic Backgrounds . . . $55 and up
And now for the part that you've all been waiting for: my cousin Carol starring in "South Pacific"! One thing I have to say - - "Next time, get a bikini; the brown wool suit just doesn't cut it in Mahi-Mahi."
Three buds from the 'hood; Janelle, Carmine & Michelle. Guess they got bored with surfing, snorkling and sailing at our own Dog Beach. Hmmmph.
Incidentally, inserting the background is a no-brainer. The hard part is selecting only the part of the original image that you want as the foreground. Michelle (directly above) was easy, but look at Janelle and how the water shows between her individual strands of hair. And look at Carmine and how the water shows between her arm and leg, and the sky shows between the fronds of the palm tree.
And below is one of my all-time favs. Note how the vertical lines (the door and windows, the upright corner-lamp, the TV) have been straightened. And the horizontal granite counter-top in the lower forground also, as well as being relieved of the unsightly white towels. Cropping the left-hand side of the picture got rid of the boring grey wall. Of course, the new view out of the windows is obvious and, finally, I've plopped my own smiling self into the easy-chair in the corner. Hey, I never turn down a free turkey-bird dinner.
